Thank you for all your comments on my last post about the spriralizer, I should have taken shares out in them, they seem very popular :)
I have had a man here removing the stair carpet today in preparation for the work on them to stop the squeeking. It is worse than we thought, it's going to take a lot of work to fix them. Damn shoddy work by the people who put them in. He reckons it is going to be a couple of days work, I don't know how we are going to manage if we can't go upstairs, climb in the upstairs window?
I thought I would share my latest basket with you, this one is oval, I am loving making them. There is only one more workshop sadly, I will hopefully finish the tray I am making. I love sashaying around the shops with my baskets:)
I planted some more seeds today, squashes and sweetcorn. They are in the bedroom window.....oh crikey, I will have to bring them down before the stairs is done or I won't be able to water them. Damn and blast, this is going to be a nightmare!!
I'm off to see Fascinating Aida tomorrow with a friend, that should cheer me up!
Chickpea xx
Where are the naughty ladies?!! Love the baskets - they look amazing! Have a wonderful weekend :)
ReplyDeleteFascinating Aida are in Truro, very funny and very naughty :)
DeleteYour basket is tremendous. Well done you.
ReplyDeleteJean x
Thank you Jean, I have the bug I love making baskets. Have a lot to learn though!
DeleteWonderful basket. Wish I could order one...
ReplyDeleteGive me a few more years practice and hopefully they won't be so wonky :)
DeleteThey don;t look wonky at all... :)
Deleteloving the baskets. love the colour tones. reminds me of a lobster or eel trap...
ReplyDeleteGreat colours aren't they, the tray I'm making is even more colourful
DeleteCamping in the living room sounds like fun :-)
ReplyDeleteWe could cook marshmallows on the fire :)
DeleteOmg! Well I do live in Australia but I have never seen Fascinating Aida. Watched the you tube clip , these ladies are brilliant , and hysterical. Thank you so much for sharing that , I shall watch more of these brilliant ladies.
ReplyDeleteThey are very funny, it will be a good night!
DeleteLove the basket ! Have you used "green" willow? I grow several colours of willow, with something like your basket in mind, but have never got around to it.
ReplyDeleteYes I have used 'green' willow. I would love to grow willow to use!
ReplyDeleteYour baskets are great, we planted several colours of basket willow two years ago, this year I was able to harvest and make a basket from the wands, I also used some red dogwood.
ReplyDeleteThat's my dream Anne, to grow my own willow and make baskets from it.....one day :)
DeleteYour basket is beautiful. Clever lady. Enjoy your night out xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Kim :)
DeleteI love your basket. I hope you have a downstairs loo or failing that a solid bucket! Xxx
ReplyDeleteWe do Fran or I WOULD be moving out :)
DeleteYour baskets are all so lovely! It must be fun to use them when you are shopping. It seems like home renovations always end up this way - involving far more work and money than originally thought to be needed. Do you have a local recreation centre where you could go to shower while the work is being done?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I just ordered a spiralizer online last night. Your enthusiasm was quite contagious! :-)
Thank you Kristie, I thought I could turn up at one of my sons houses and leave wet towels everywhere. Payback :) Let me know how you get on with your spiralizer!
DeleteMy stairs do that! They were fine when the kids were smaller as there was just one that squeaked and I would then know they were sneaking downstairs, but now there are about five doing it, so I can't sneak downstairs!! My dream is to one day go to a market with my little basket and fill it up with all local produce and come back and make a wonderful feast... one day! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes do it!! :)
DeleteI think your baskets are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous class you are taking.
A friend found me a woven basket from her farmers market. It is a smaller soft closer weave.
I too have a dream to walk around my market and fill it up.
cheers, parsnip
Thank you parsnip, we will start a new fashion for baskets, who needs designer bags :)
Deleteloving those baskets..
ReplyDeleteThanks knitty x
Deleteoooh don't talk to me about creaking, grrrrr,we have awful creaking on the landing and our bedroom drives me crazy. It is sooo loud too.It is going to be sorted out next month when decorating being done.Good Luck with your stairs.Beautiful basket well done you,do you wear gloves, does it make your fingers sore.Enjoy your day out.xx
ReplyDeleteWe have lived with it for years Lee, doesn't really bother me anymore, but if we are going to sell we need to fix it. No I don't wear gloves, It doesn't make your fingers sore but it is hard on them all the pushing and pulling.
DeleteOh my goodness, I hope that it doesn't take as long to fix the stairs and that they can safely make something temporary for you to use. Our stairs creak, but not to the extent that we will replace them thankfully! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's turning out to be a bigger job than we thought, so may take longer nooooo!
DeleteYour new basket is great! You're getting very good at this. I hope the stairs repair isn't too difficult.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jennifer, I'm pleased with it but it takes years to perfect the skill
DeleteThe local radio station is playing the Fab Four... maybe you can go in through the bathroom window.
ReplyDelete**DUCKS**
I think my days of climbing in and out of windows are long gone :)
