Oh dear, my blog is starting to sound like a list of my ailments, I am usually fit and healthy.....honest. My sprained knee felt so much better over the weekend that I decided to go for a walk in Tehidy woods. I have been hobbling around ever since. It was worth it though, as it is bluebell time. One of my first posts contained photos of these same woods at bluebell time. Aren't they just so beautiful, I look forward to seeing them every year.
We came across some dens in the woods. I loved building dens when I was little, perhaps I should start building them again. I could sit in them and read.
There is a little woodland garden in the woods, I would like a garden like this. It even had baubles in the tree so I'm part way there.
..... and a resident squirrel. He was not shy at all.
I hope you had a good weekend. Back to work today boo!!!
Chickpea xx
I would love to see a field of Bluebells. So wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWonder who keeps up the little garden it is lovely.
That is one healthy squirrel ! Another blog I follow has the dog talking about NY and he calls the squirrels, Fatty.
His name for squirrels. This one would fit perfectly in his walks.
Go easy with that knee.
cheers, parsnip
Ha definitely fatty!
DeleteI love seeing those bluebells. They grow in Texas but I wish they would grow next door over here in New Mexico. I hope your knee is better soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer.
DeleteI should love a wooded garden, with a den x take care of that knee x
ReplyDeleteThanks driftwood, I think we should start a trend for adult dens :)
DeletePoor you! You do seem to be having a bad time of it lately! Your photos are stunning - they'd make superb cards. Have you ever thought of submitting them?
ReplyDeleteThanks, I just lucky enough to have a good camera that does everything for me, I just point and click
DeleteWhat a lovely fluffy squirrel - a lot of people find them a pest but secretly I love them - even if they do try to raid all the birds' nuts! Lovely photos! Judy.
ReplyDeleteI like seeing them, they really are cheeky :)
DeleteI'm glad you enjoyed your walk even though you've been suffering since. I went for a walk on Monday. It was lovely to see the bluebells and made for a pleasant change of colour after all the daffodils. X
ReplyDeleteI love their beautiful colour amongst the greenery
DeleteBrilliant squirrel photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Coco :) It was posing for the camera
DeleteHey Chickpea,
ReplyDeleteOlly loves all the dens scattered throughout the woods. That and the North Cliffs and Hells Mouth Cafe are always much enjoyed here!
Leanne xx
Great aren't they, I don't know who put them there
DeleteOur bluebells are out but not the rose campion. I am sure all the spring flowers and blossom are bigger and brighter this year.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos
We do seem to have a lot of them everywhere this year.
Delete..... and a resident squirrel. He was not shy at all.
ReplyDeleteThey usually aren't shy. We have one in front of our shop which likes to pick through the trash barrels. My co-worker Janet is convinced that it is going to come into the building. I shooed it away from the trash barrels last Saturday:
"Get away from the trash, Nutkin, you're picking up bad habits."
"You named it?"
"They're all named Nutkin, Janet."
I've seen Nutkin mugging people in London parks. Not as vicious as our seagulls though :)
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, lovely woods. What is the blue flowers before the squirrel photos? it looks like aquilegia but the leafs seem wrong. Haven't seen any squirrels yet this year, we only have reds in our area thankfully, we have far too many Pine Martens for grey squirrels to survive.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne, I don't know what they are but thought they were really pretty. They were in the garden area. I would love to see red squirrels.
DeleteWhat a beautiful walk! Hope your knee is better. I still have aches and pains from a sprained ankle that happened years ago. And had knee surgery when I was in 8th grade so my left knee often gives me problems. A lot of walking and standing can make both my knees ache but I just keep moving. :) Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteOh no sorry to hear about you sprained ankle, I was hoping it would clear up completely, but sounds like it may be a long job. Have a good weekend :)
