Two years ago after a health scare I decided to write a 'sixty things to do before I am sixty list'. The biggest thing on it was move out of the City, and this is what is taking up all my time at the moment, I keep telling myself it will be worth it.....it will be worth it.....it will be worth it. I'm afraid everything else is being neglected including this blog, but please bare with me. I'm hoping to get everything done ready to put the house on the market in September/October, fingers crossed. Then I will be trying to find our new home in the country, and hopefully a simpler life growing more of our own food and enjoying having space around us. Life feels like it is on hold for now, but there will be scary and exciting times ahead!
Do any of you have a 'bucket' list? I would love to hear about them.
Of course it has not been all work, August is also the busiest time for our Band. We played at Padstow last weekend and had a wonderful time getting children in the audience to dance along and have a go at the drums. It was a one of those warm evenings that you didn't want to miss, so we stayed a while enjoying a drink as we sat by the harbour. I feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful place and to make music with friends.
I am typing this while in bed, some days you just run out of steam after fighting through the traffic after work. I was hoping to stay up to watch Nils Frahm on The Proms tonight, I heard this piece of music a while ago and was mesmerised. I hope you enjoy it, (the bearded one hates it) turn the volume up and chill.
Chickpea xx
p.s. Thank you to Annie who ran a giveaway that I was lucky enough to win, thank you so much, it has arrived at just the right time, I can escape into the pages of this wonderful book. Go and check out her blog, it is beautiful and she has a summer bucket list!
(would you consider moving your Followers widget to the sidebar?
ReplyDeleteIt is making all your text dance and difficult to read)
Oh sorry Diana, I didn't realise, maybe something to do with how it looks on different computer thingies (you can tell I'm technical haha) I will have a go at moving it later.
DeleteHi Diana, has that solved the problem?
Deleteoh yes. Thank you.
DeleteOnly found the 60 by 60 idea, from you, just before THAT birthday.
I have an ever changing bucket list, it goes from mad and wild plans to travel the world to simplifying our life, and of course my major bucket list item is to move to Cornwall ! lovely piece of music and great picture too!
ReplyDeleteYes mine is changing over time, crossed off big trips overseas and looking more at simple things these days. Have a lovely weekend in Cornwall xx
DeleteI hope that you enjoy completing your sixty by sixty list and that you do well with the house as well, a whole new set of adventures will await you when you move! xx
ReplyDeleteYes!! It's all a bit scary though
DeleteI wish you well with your move. I really hope it happens for you now and that it is everything you want/need it to be x I have a very similar bucket list to you, but most of all I want to move to the countryside and have more space to grow my own food and live a simpler existence.
ReplyDeleteSnap :)
DeleteOh how I wish we could have been in Padstow to hear your band play. Wonderful atmospheric photo of the harbour there....
ReplyDeleteNo bucket list for me because I know I would never get to do the things on it as two of them would be visit our son in Australia and see the Terracotta Warriors in China, both trips are ones that my OH refuses to make, sadly :(
You could have joined in :)
DeleteI don't have a bucket list but I am starting to compile a sixty by sixty list too! It all started because I happened to mention I had never been to a festival and thought I would like to do it before I turn sixty. If only I liked the idea of camping!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't cope with the camping and loos, we are going to Boardmasters Festival tonight then coming home to our own beds and leaving the more hardy to their tents :)
DeleteI'm so glad you're enjoying the book, it's pefect read if you're trying to find tranquility in the midst of chaos methinks :o)
ReplyDeleteAh yes tranquility, I have forgotten what that's like
DeleteHope you manage to reach your goal and move out of the city. I dream of moving to the Western Isles, maybe one day....
ReplyDeleteI hope you achieve your dream :)
DeleteI think moving out of the city would be the only thing on my list! We ended up in sort of a compromise, however, We have five acres but it's right on the edge of a small town. I suppose one could say it's the best of both worlds, but our neighbors all think we're crazy. Kinda wouldn't mind a bit more privacy for us, our animals, and our garden.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to have a bucket list - I don't have one at the moment. Good luck with your move. Joan at www.aviewtothefells.com
