Rant Alert......may involve bad language.

I thought I had better check in with you all in case you thought I had disappeared, I have been busy busy busy with juggling everything on very little sleep.  Working in health I have been incredibly busy helping people with their New Years Resolutions to get healthier.  It it my busiest time of year work wise and leaves very little time for me to actually work on my own health, seems a bit hypocritical really.  I advise people to "Go for walks, eat healthily,  get enough sleep, stop smoking etc etc" you get the picture.  While little old me is sat scrunched over a computer, living on whatever I can grab from the kitchen that is quick, and surviving on a few hours sleep.  Damn the insomnia!!

I am counting the days to retirement, if I could just do the working with people bit it would be great, it is all the paperwork that is involved in everything these day.  I wouldn't be surprised if I have to fill out a bloody form to go to the loo soon!!!  There is so much ass- covering these days in case you get sued that half your time is spent completing courses and filling out forms on the bleeding obvious.   Don't get me wrong, I'm in favour of Health and Safety to ensure people are kept safe, but it does seem to be going too far sometimes.

I have also failed my resolutions to be a more consistent blogger......yes my output is pants at the moment.  Sorry guys I will try harder.....perhaps I should do a course on it :)

In other news, I am scratching my head over all the forms involved in selling a house......they want to know the ins and outs of a ducks backside!!

Still chasing up estate agents to send us details on any houses that suit our criteria..... do they want to sell properties or not!!

I know, it is a badly worded, rushed post, probably full of typos and lots and lots of moaning (and exclamation marks!!!!)  My next post will be full of good things, raindrops and roses.....I promise.

Hope you are all keeping well dear bloggy friends,

Chickpea xx

  2. Love the photo! It's good to vent sometimes isn't it and you were remarkably restrained with the language! Here's to a calm, stress-free weekend and if all else fails, try gin! xx

  6. I have to say - which will not help your mood at all!!! - that I was expecting your rant to be far far worse than this!!!

You sound incredibly stressed though which isn't surprising when you are trying to move house, I am sure that the Estate Agents and Solicitors have some sort of scheme going between them to see just how much they can annoy the purchasers and sellers and only when you have threatened them do they suddenly say "oh, okay, all good to go" and let you actually move house. Just my experience of course!!!

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this, and all of those forms at work are not helping matters I am sure. Sometimes it seems as though you have to fill in a form saying which forms you have filled in to say which forms you have filled in doesn't it. Grrr!!!

I hope that it gets better for you soon - at least on the move front even if you can't do much about the work/form front.

Try and take care of yourself if you can. Sending big hugs to you!!! xx

  8. It never fails to impress me how you and all the other working bloggers out there manage to get anything posted. I have been reading yours and a few other blogs with great enjoyment since I took early retirement in October from the NHS. Like you I enjoyed my job but the endless input on Rio the IT system not enough staff and the constant pressure of do more made me realise that I wanted a different life and now I have it. All the best with the house move Wendy

  9. I haven't blogged for a while either, too busy and getting stressed ( I am trying to be a chilled out and calm person but sometimes with the best will in the world it all goes out the window). Better to have a break from blogging than adding more pressure. Hope everything settles down soon. I find I don't sleep so well when I have lots to do and spend hours thinking about any old thing.

  10. Hey Chickpea,
    Great selfie ;))
I used to think physician heal thyself frequently as I was counselling those in distress. It's only in the past year that I've got any kind of handle on my depressive episodes, and they can still tap me on the shoulder from time to time. I think our health service is amazing, and feel saddened that all you lovely people that work therein should be bogged down in unnecessary paperwork. The weather is looking hopeful for the weekend, so maybe it will see you out and about enjoying it.
    Take it easy lemon squeezy.

  17. Treat yourself to a soap box and a megaphone, a good rant is like the valve on a pressure cooker, absolutely essential. I am so pleased that my life is no longer ruled by paperwork, in triplicate and entered into a computer. The food industry generates as much paper as it does food at times. I do hope that your house dealings are as speedy as possible.

  18. I can sympathise with the stress of dealing with estate agents; I moved house almost 18 months ago but the memory is still very real!!
By the way, I didn't rely on estate agents providing possible houses; I used 'Rightmove' and found the ones I liked. It's a great site to use - you enter what amount you want to spend, locality, number of bedrooms, etc.then spend many a happy hour looking through all the possibilities. I'm now living in the very first one I bookmarked - happy bunny! Here's wishing you a successful search and outcome.

    1. Thank you Rambler:) I spend hours trawling through Zoopla, Rightmove etc. I chase up the estate agents to get details on properties that haven't gone on line yet so we can be among the first to see them. We are registered with them, they know we have a buyer so just waiting to find something, very frustrating!

  19. I have been a bad blogger as well, life just gets in the way sometimes. Oh how I understand your counting the days to retirement, I am so with you on that one! I have been working full time teaching, if I could just teach it would be fab but paperwork and management just make the job more difficult. In fact I have handed in my notice, couldn't stand the latter any more. Good luck with the house sale xxxx

  20. I know this feeling oh too well with lots of early starts and late finishes and craving for the weekend to hurry up and arrive. There are times when I want to shout stop the world I want to get off. Hope things settle down for you soon.

  21. It it my busiest time of year work wise and leaves very little time for me to actually work on my own health, seems a bit hypocritical really.

It's not hypocritical... you have to handle the short-term duties and get back to the long-term goals when you can.

  22. That was a very gentle rant, but I hope it made you feel a little better. I'm sure 'your' house is out there waiting for you, I hope you find it soon.
