Prising Myself Off the Sofa
I gave in and took a sleeping tablet last night then got up early this morning in preparation for going back to work. My bad sleeping habits are going to have to stop now the holidays are over, it's no fun having to be grown up and sensible! Roll on retirement when I won't have to clock watch, I could stay up all night if I wanted to!
Anyway, while I was on a mission of being responsible I decided we needed to get some exercise and dragged the bearded one out for a walk up St Agnes Beacon. The weather wasn't great but the clouds and sea mist were magical. Come along with me on our walk.
The view on the way up is towards Porthtowan, Portreath and Godrevy
At the top of the beacon.
We walked down the other side of the Beacon where the view is towards Perranporth and Newquay
I'm so glad I made the effort. Back to reality now and deciding what to have for Dinner as our eldest son is coming over to watch the football with the bearded one so will want feeding. I have to finish off the ironing and transplant the xmas tree into a big pot in the garden. Oh blow it, I might just sneak off to my sewing room and play for a while. It is my last day of freedom after all.

What a beautiful walk! It very much reminds me of my walk along part of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path in Wales. You are so lucky to live where you do. I hope you have an easy transition back to reality this week. That first week after the holidays always feels so flat, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures (oh, that sky!)from your walk. Hopefully all that fresh air will have you in the Land of Nod tonight with no problem.
ReplyDeleteIncredible scenery and great photos. Have you ever drank Valerian tea? It's brilliant for sleeping.
ReplyDeleteI am in the same boat as you I only sleep all night if I have a tablet, so I know just how you feel x What a lovely walk, we are going out for one tommorow, hubby has be prised to the sofa today, as there are three football matches on.
ReplyDeleteThose clouds certainly look ominous but the area is beautiful. I had to go back to school today after our 2 week winter break and was not happy at all. We woke to heavy fog that fortunately lifted by the time we had to leave. My oldest comes in tomorrow morning from the States for a visit and am hoping that there won't be flight delays like this morning due to weather conditions. Have a good evening. Tammy
ReplyDeleteGrrrrr Cornish sea photos again! All we got on our walk were flat Suffolk fields.
ReplyDeleteI hope getting back to work is not too hard
gorgeous skies. and yes when in doubt always sneak off and sew.
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious walk - I'm quite envious! I've taken it easy today too - TV and crochet this afternoon (after visiting my parents for a cuppa) - a perfect afternoon before the return to routine tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI hope it all goes well for you. x
A lovely walk - beautiful views. I'm a bit nocturnal too - I get it from dad, his family are night owls - I'm ready to go at bedtime and can't wake up in the mornings so I share you sleep woes and bad habits... back to work for me tomorrow too :(
ReplyDeleteWhat magnificent clouds!
ReplyDeleteI'm SO glad to be back in the non Christmas world. The tree is down....the cards have gone and the spring cleaning begins.....xx
Stunning photos - I could almost breathe in the fresh air myself.
ReplyDeleteCaz xx
I hope that you enjoyed your last day of freedom. What a wonderful walk you went on, so perfectly right for this time of year. xx
ReplyDeleteIt is very similar to the Welsh coast Kristie, and I find January 'flat'.
ReplyDeleteI wish love those cupcakes, even with sleeping tabs I still wake.
I tried some herbal tablets with valerian in them, they had no effect.
Yes simple living, football was on all afternoon here!
I hope the flight doesn't get delayed Tammy
Yes I'm afraid so Sue :)
Always the best option Tess :)
and for you Sara
There seems to be an awful lot of us Louise
Spring cleaning aaaarrrgghhh!
Thank you Caz
I did Amy, back to the usual routine tomorrow
Lovely moody photos. I feel your pain about the return to grown up world. I escaped to my craft room today to try to hide from tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThe cloud formations are amazing and you have captured them perfectly. Yep, football was on here too, still gave me the chance to sneak off and read a book in peace xxx
ReplyDeleteI am sitting at my desk at work wishing I was still on my sofa, or even better, in my bed. I hope you are settling into the work routine quickly and that you get some good sleep tonight. I am so looking forward to our holiday in Cornwall, I miss the see and the beauty of the region. x
ReplyDeleteI'm not being lazy, I'm keeping hubby company as he's done his back in and can't move ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely pics xx

ReplyDeletethanks for a great walk. I miss the sea already. x
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous scenery!
ReplyDeleteI have to finish off the ironing and transplant the xmas tree into a big pot in the garden.
The living Christmas tree is a wonderful idea. Funny how most people celebrate the joy of the season with a big dead bird and a small dead tree.
What a wonderful walk. I could almost feel the cobwebs being blown away.
ReplyDeleteI can see my house from one of these pics lol
ReplyDeleteGod this really is a spectacularly beautiful country we live in, isnt it. What lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone xx
