One step forward, two steps back

Oh dear, my blog is starting to sound like a list of my ailments, I am usually fit and healthy.....honest. My sprained knee felt so much better over the weekend that I decided to go for a walk in Tehidy woods.  I have been hobbling around ever since.  It was worth it though, as it is bluebell time.  One of my first posts contained photos of these same woods at bluebell time.  Aren't they just so beautiful, I look forward to seeing them every year.

We came across some dens in the woods.  I loved building dens when I was little, perhaps I should start building them again.  I could sit in them and read.

There is a little woodland garden in the woods, I would like a garden like this.  It even had baubles in the tree so I'm part way there.

..... and a resident squirrel.  He was not shy at all.

I hope you had a good weekend.  Back to work today boo!!!

  2. I love seeing those bluebells. They grow in Texas but I wish they would grow next door over here in New Mexico. I hope your knee is better soon.

  5. What a lovely fluffy squirrel - a lot of people find them a pest but secretly I love them - even if they do try to raid all the birds' nuts! Lovely photos! Judy.

  6. I'm glad you enjoyed your walk even though you've been suffering since. I went for a walk on Monday. It was lovely to see the bluebells and made for a pleasant change of colour after all the daffodils. X

Olly loves all the dens scattered throughout the woods. That and the North Cliffs and Hells Mouth Cafe are always much enjoyed here!

  9. Our bluebells are out but not the rose campion. I am sure all the spring flowers and blossom are bigger and brighter this year.

They usually aren't shy. We have one in front of our shop which likes to pick through the trash barrels. My co-worker Janet is convinced that it is going to come into the building. I shooed it away from the trash barrels last Saturday:

"Get away from the trash, Nutkin, you're picking up bad habits."
    "You named it?"
    "They're all named Nutkin, Janet."

  11. I've seen Nutkin mugging people in London parks. Not as vicious as our seagulls though :)

  12. Lovely photos, lovely woods. What is the blue flowers before the squirrel photos? it looks like aquilegia but the leafs seem wrong. Haven't seen any squirrels yet this year, we only have reds in our area thankfully, we have far too many Pine Martens for grey squirrels to survive.

  13. What a beautiful walk! Hope your knee is better. I still have aches and pains from a sprained ankle that happened years ago. And had knee surgery when I was in 8th grade so my left knee often gives me problems. A lot of walking and standing can make both my knees ache but I just keep moving. :) Have a wonderful weekend.
