Prising Myself Off the Sofa

I gave in and took a sleeping tablet last night then got up early this morning in preparation for going back to work.  My bad sleeping habits are going to have to stop now the holidays are over, it's no fun having to be grown up and sensible!  Roll on retirement when I won't have to clock watch, I could stay up all night if I wanted to!

Anyway, while I was on a mission of being responsible I decided we needed to get some exercise and dragged the bearded one out for a walk up St Agnes Beacon.  The weather wasn't great but the clouds and sea mist were magical.  Come along with me on our walk.

The view on the way up is towards Porthtowan, Portreath and Godrevy

At the top of the beacon.

We walked down the other side of the Beacon where the view is towards Perranporth and Newquay

I'm so glad I made the effort.  Back to reality now and deciding what to have for Dinner as our eldest  son is coming over to watch the football with the bearded one so will want feeding.  I have to finish off the ironing and transplant the xmas tree into a big pot in the garden.  Oh blow it, I might just sneak off to my sewing room and play for a while.  It is my last day of freedom after all.

  1. What a beautiful walk! It very much reminds me of my walk along part of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path in Wales. You are so lucky to live where you do. I hope you have an easy transition back to reality this week. That first week after the holidays always feels so flat, doesn't it?

  5. Those clouds certainly look ominous but the area is beautiful. I had to go back to school today after our 2 week winter break and was not happy at all. We woke to heavy fog that fortunately lifted by the time we had to leave. My oldest comes in tomorrow morning from the States for a visit and am hoping that there won't be flight delays like this morning due to weather conditions. Have a good evening. Tammy

  8. What a glorious walk - I'm quite envious! I've taken it easy today too - TV and crochet this afternoon (after visiting my parents for a cuppa) - a perfect afternoon before the return to routine tomorrow.
I hope it all goes well for you. x

  13. It is very similar to the Welsh coast Kristie, and I find January 'flat'.

I wish love those cupcakes, even with sleeping tabs I still wake.

I tried some herbal tablets with valerian in them, they had no effect.

  20. Such gorgeous scenery!

I have to finish off the ironing and transplant the xmas tree into a big pot in the garden.

The living Christmas tree is a wonderful idea. Funny how most people celebrate the joy of the season with a big dead bird and a small dead tree.
