Five on Friday

For this post I am linking up with Amy on her lovely blog Love Made My Home for Five on Friday.  She has made a logo to add to your blog if you join in, unfortunately due to my lack of computer skills I haven't been able to add it.  But do pop over to her blog and have a look, even better join in, I'm sure you will have more success than me adding the logo.

This is my first Five on Friday, where do I begin?

1.  On a dark, dark hill

Having grandchildren has given me the excuse to dig out the children's books from the loft.  Funny bones  by the wonderful Janet and Allan Ahlberg was one of their favourites, and is now a favourite of our grandchildren.  On a dark, dark hill there was a dark, dark town.......  What is/was your children's favourite?

2. Muggles Alley

I love the scene in Harry Potter where they go to Diagon Alley hidden away from muggles.
On our recent visit to London Anna recommended going to Neal's Yard, it felt like a muggles secret Diagon Alley.  Lovely shops hidden away in an alleyway full of colour.

3.  Liberty Love

Planning a new quilt with lovely Liberty fabric gathered over the last five years.  Watch this space!

4. Three ingredients

Cauliflower, Cumin, Olive Oil....... Roast.

5. Yellow Weeds

The joy of my wild garden where the grass doesn't get cut and yellow weeds grow.

Chickpea xx

    1. I would love to make dandelion wine one day, I'm resisting filling the house with any more hobby paraphernalia before putting it on the market though. When we move........I seen to be saying that a lot lately!

  2. Ah I'm so glad you went to Neal's Yard. It's a bit of a hidden gem isn't it. There's a fab Moroccon restaurant there too.
I've been throwing out children things recently and must admit to keeping some for future grandchildren.

  3. Lovely post and welcome to Five on Friday, its a lovely blogging community hosted by Amy. Our children's favourite was by Julia Donaldson called the Snail and the Whale, they story is simple but easy for the children to join along. I loved reading it with them too. Neal's yard is fab and can agree about the Moroccan restaurant too.

  5. Hello and welcome to Amy's lovely blog hop! That's a great five. Neal's yard is a hidden gem and completely unexpected if you stumble upon it. The Liberty prints are very pretty, we look forward to seeing your quilt - no pressure ha! We have recently moved house and I gave all our girl's things away to my Sister In Law for her granddaughter, I regret it a bit now, they were so well looked after. My favourite story to read to them was The Tiger who Came to Tea, I'm not sure that they enjoyed it as much. I do remember Funny Bones too! Have a lovely weekend x

  16. Hi Chickpea, lovely to meet you through Five on Friday! Funnily enough I have just been looking at the kids Harry Potter books and wondering whether I should keep for any grandchildren... you have just answered my question in pics 1 and 2! We don't have a loft but the idea of getting the books out in years to come is lovely!
Roast cauliflower I might just do this as having all my neighbours (just us ladies) round for lunch on Monday! Thank you for the idea.

  18. Count me in with the dandelion fans. I can't believe how many people expend a ton of money and effort to eradicate them when every part of the plant is edible. The leaves are bitter, but they are good to add in with other greens.
