A Walk before Work

It was going to be another long hot day so I decided to take a walk through Halbullock Moor this morning.  It is so peaceful here and there is a little respite from the heat under the trees.  The scene has totally changed from the last photos I took here.  The spring wildflowers are gone,  and the brambles are taking over although there are only a few blackberries.   I would like to learn the names of the plants one day.  Another thing to add to my to do list.  In the spring you could step down off the boardwalk and venture into the woods.  Now it is impenetrable.

Come and join me for a stroll along the boardwalk.  You can point out the flowers and tell me their names.

Even plants that are considered a nuisance have their uses and beauty.

Here be Trolls!

Among the greenery you can spot tiny little flowers if you look hard enough.

There were quite a few of these dotted among the woodland, does anyone know what they are?

They were certainly popular with the butterflies and bees.

I spotted this butterfly with its proboscis prodding the flowers busily feeding.

On the way home.

Being among nature really does lift my spirits and recharges my batteries.  I love noticing the little things.  Standing still and keeping very quite, all sort of things appear.  There was a beautiful dragonfly who was just too quick for me to capture with the camera.  The grandchildren are coming to stay for a few days so we will be returning here to look for trolls under the boardwalk. I will try to get a photo of the trolls for you :)

I hope you all had a peaceful day, thank you for the kind comment yesterday, I will be glad when it's all done and dusted now.  I'm upset that I will miss playing with the band at the Tall Ships Festival in Falmouth, but it can't be helped.

Chickpea xx
